Sivanagavalli Break The Bias in HR
Meet Sivanagavalli Challagulla, HR Assistant Manager – India:
I joined ATALIAN Global Services India in 2020 as the Human Resources Assistant Manager. I have 10 years of experience in payroll and statutory compliance which is significant for business in India. I’m glad to successfully implement a lot of payroll system transitions along my career journey. Currently, I manage statutory compliance in 14 states which is a challenging task for me because each state is different.
What does the 2022 International Women’s Day slogan, #BreakTheBias mean for you in your work life?
For me, the slogan means to give equal opportunities to all, bring diversity into the workforce and make sure that female employees are applying for promotions.
What barriers have you overcome to be successful in your field?
Under a flexible work schedule, I manage to be more productive with the time I have and help me balance my work and family time easier.
What can be done to encourage and support a more inclusive workplace in your industry?
The atmosphere of an inclusive workplace allows everyone to feel that they are respected, heard, safe, and accepted. Education and awareness about biases at work and improving employee work-life balance can benefit both men and women.
If you were given 60 minutes for yourself during the working hour on International Women’s Day, how would you spend your time?
I like to visit the nearest site to see other women and participate in the women’s day celebration. I also want to brief our employees about equal opportunities in Atalian India.
